KATHMANDU: Prof. Dr Dhundiraj Paudel has been appointed chairperson of the Nepal Medical Council.
The newly appointed chairperson took the oath of office and secrecy before Minister for Health and Population Nisha Mehta on Wednesday.
A senior otolaryngologist (ENT specialist), Dr Paudel is currently serving as the head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and as a professor at Nepalgunj Medical College in Kohalpur.
He has previously served in various capacities at Bir Hospital, Bheri Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital and Dang Hospital.
Dr Paudel completed his Master of Surgery (MS) in Otorhinolaryngology from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, graduating with a gold medal. He also completed his MBBS from the same institution.
Dr Paudel has also served as an executive member and coordinator of the Ethics and Examination Committee of the Nepal Medical Council.
