KATHMANDU: A dry landslide has completely blocked the Kaligandaki corridor road in Gulmi. The obstruction occurred this morning at the Rakse section in Kaligandaki rural municipality-2, halting all vehicular movement.
According to the District Police Office in Gulmi, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Baburam Shrestha from the Purtighat police post has been deployed to the site.
Information officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Bir Bishwakarma stated that efforts to clear the debris are underway in coordination with the local rural municipality.
Police noted that clearing the road may take time as rocks and debris continue to fall from above. The closure has left vehicles and passengers traveling from Gulmi to Palpa, Butwal, Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, and Pokhara stranded on the road.
