KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal and the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizen Protection Campaign,” led by Durga Prasai, signed a 14-point agreement on Saturday.
The deal was finalized following talks held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Joint Secretary Liladhar Subedi signed the document on behalf of the government, while Bishnu Bohara Chhetri signed on behalf of the campaign.
Under the agreement, the campaign has called off all ongoing protests, demonstrations, and sit-ins effective Saturday.
According to both parties, the accord was reached after detailed discussions in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, between campaign representatives and the government-formed negotiation team.
The 14-point document addresses key demands raised by the campaign along with government commitments for further initiative and resolution.
