Energy Minister Shrestha appoints three new advisers

KATHMANDU: Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha appointed three new advisers on Thursday, expanding his advisory team to four members.

Shrestha appointed Ashutosh Tiwari as adviser for planning and investment, Ramesh Poudel as policy adviser and Ganesh Karki as adviser for the private sector.

He had earlier appointed Bibek Raj Kandel as his energy adviser.

With the latest appointments, Shrestha’s advisory team now covers expertise in energy, policy, planning and investment, and private-sector affairs.

According to the ministry, the advisers will provide recommendations and policy input on matters including policymaking, planning, investment promotion and coordination with the private sector. All four advisers will serve in an honorary capacity, the ministry said.
