KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is scheduled to address the House of Representatives today, Wednesday.
The minister will brief the house at 11 a.m. regarding the devastation caused by the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Aug. 26.
The flood in the Bhotekoshi River resulted in significant loss of life and damaged a dozen hydropower projects.
According to the minister’s chief personal secretary, Sanjiv Maharjan, Shrestha will inform the parliament about the government’s response, including rescue, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts, as well as future action plans.
The minister has already secured time from Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to deliver his address during the meeting, which is set to commence at 11 a.m.
