. For that, in coordination with the relevant authorities, they will regularly check the condition of public vehicles, necessary documents, route permits, and safety equipment.

Even though public transport vehicles are supposed to get permission for their respective routes, the police have said that there are complaints about some vehicles operating without the necessary documents or outside their assigned routes.

The traffic police are cracking down on such activities and tightening the rules around route permits. Chief of the KVTPO, Senior Superintendent of Police Suresh Prasad Kafle mentioned that they are preparing to make fire extinguishers mandatory in public vehicles.

According to him, because vehicles can catch fire at any time due to electrical and technical issues, fuel leaks, and so on, it is necessary to keep fire control equipment in the vehicles so that the fire can be extinguished the moment it starts.

Traffic Police spokesperson Naresh Raj Subedi said that the condition of public vehicles, the driver’s fitness, necessary documents, route permits, and the state and usability of fire control devices will be regularly monitored.
