KATHMANDU: Five people were injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a scooter at Hatbazar in Kawasoti Municipality-8, Nawalpur, on the East-West Highway. The accident occurred when a motorcycle, identified as Ga 11 Pa 4732, traveling from Rajahar towards Kawasoti, struck a scooter, Na 53 Pa 4659, that was crossing the road, according to local police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Pandit, information officer at the District Police Office, stated that the injured include the motorcycle rider, 50-year-old Ram Khanal of Parbat Mahashila Rural Municipality-5, and his wife, 41-year-old Radha Sharma. The scooter rider, 40-year-old Chandra Singh Gaha of Devchuli Municipality-9, Nawalpur, was also injured along with his passengers, 26-year-old Khimmaya Masrangi of Kawasoti-12 Pithauli and her 14-month-old son, Shreyans Masrangi.
All the injured individuals received initial treatment at Nawalpur Hospital before being referred to the New Medical College in Bharatpur, Chitwan, for further medical care.
