KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of a moderate risk of flash floods in small rivers across over 20 districts, even as major rivers including the Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, and Mahakali remain below warning levels.

Rivers in the Kathmandu Valley, Eastern and Central hilly districts (such as Taplejung, Dolakha, and Kavrepalanchok), and Western regions (including Gorkha, Kaski, and Jajarkot) are expected to see significant flow surges.

With sudden water level rises predicted to continue over the next two days across Koshi and Gandaki provinces, authorities strongly advise residents living near riverbanks to maintain high vigilance.
