DHADING: A bridge over Furkhe Khola in Dhading district has been swept away by floodwaters originating from the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, disrupting road connectivity to the district headquarters, Dhadingbesi.
The bridge was washed away after the powerful flood current reached Furkhe Khola and caused the water level to rise sharply. The incident has disrupted vehicular and pedestrian movement along the road connecting Dhadingbesi with surrounding areas.
Vehicles and passengers traveling to and from Dhadingbesi have been stranded following the collapse of the bridge. The increasing flow of floodwater from the Rasuwa side had raised the water level in Furkhe Khola, eventually damaging and sweeping away the bridge.
The disruption has affected transportation between Dhadingbesi and nearby settlements, with authorities urging residents and travelers in areas around the river to remain alert.
Officials have warned that the flood flow could increase further and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from riverbanks and flood-prone areas.
