KASKI: A flash flood in the Modi River around 2:15 AM this early morning swept away two metal bridges linking Kaski and Parbat districts and damaged about half of the Annapurna Mata Temple near Birethanti.
Three people—a priest and two devotees—were trapped inside the temple. A rescue team from the Armed Police Force Nepal’s No. 24 Kalika Battalion, Kaski, reached the site at around 2:35 AM and is working to evacuate them.
The team includes rope-rescue specialists and divers equipped with disaster rescue gear, according to APF.
