Floods and landslides block roads across Nepal

A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: Several roads across the country remain obstructed today due to floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.

Police reported that traffic is limited to one-way operations on some highways.

In Gorkha, the road at Arughat is completely blocked due to flooding. Police stated that the iron bridge at Soti and the road connecting Gorkha’s Arughat to Dhading are fully obstructed.

Additionally, at the new bridge in Arughat-9, flooding has restricted traffic to one-way passage for small vehicles on the route connecting Gorkha and Dhading.

In Surkhet, a landslide has forced one-way traffic movement along the Karnali Highway.

Meanwhile, in Rasuwa, road networks remain disrupted throughout the district following the flood in the Bhotekoshi River that occurred on Aug. 27.
