KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has issued an updated traffic advisory detailing major highway blockages and altered vehicular movements across key highway corridors following recent devastating floods and landslides.
According to the latest police update, operations along the BP Highway covering the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section remain under timed restrictions.
Freight and cargo vehicles weighing up to 10 tonnes are permitted to operate between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM, while private and public passenger vehicles are allowed to travel during daytime hours from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Meanwhile, along the Tokha-Chhahare road section in Nuwakot district, a complete nighttime travel ban remains in place from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM for all non-essential private and public vehicles due to ongoing monsoon hazards.
In Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, critical transport arteries connecting to the Rasuwagadhi border crossing remain severely damaged.
The Pasang Lhamu Highway—specifically the main corridor passing through Trishuli and Betrawati bazaars—has been completely disrupted after the Trishuli River washed away major portions of the riverbank road.
To maintain connectivity to Syabrubesi, authorities have designated an operational single-lane dirt road as an alternative route.
Commuters traveling from Kathmandu can reach Syabrubesi via Tokha, Chhahare, Bidur, Nuwakot Durbar, Falante, Chokde, Lachyang, Saramthali, Parchyang, Bhorle, Zero Km, Kalikasthan, Syaubari, Ramche, Sole, Dhunche, and ultimately Syabrubesi.
