KATHMANDU: Flooding in the Kaligandaki River has swept away five houses in Farse and Lasti Bazaar, located in Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 of Parbat district.
Several other homes in the area remain at high risk due to the rising water levels.
Jaljala Rural Municipality Chairman Raju Acharya confirmed that residents living in the vulnerable settlements have been relocated to safer areas.
The surge in the river’s water level, which began overnight, has caused significant alarm among the local population.
The rising waters have also caused erosion in various coastal areas across Myagdi, Parbat, and Baglung districts.
Local authorities have urged residents living along the riverbanks to remain vigilant as the situation develops.
