RASUWA: The government has started distributing essential foodstuffs including rice, pulse, salt and oil to the flood survivors of Rasuwa. The supplies are delivered by helicopters today.
According to the District Administration Office, Rasuwa, 15 quintals of the food items were dispatched to the affected areas in three helicopters this morning. Additional supplies have been planned for the flood-hit zone.
After the devastating Bhotekoshi flash flood washed away the major roadway connectivity and bridges in the district, the affected were in a dire need of the food supplies.
The food assistance has been sent to Khaibi, Danda Gaun, Haku, Thulo Gaun, Sherpa Gaun, Khamjing and other places, according to assistant chief district officer of Rasuwa, Druba Prasad Adhikari.
He added that the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel are jointly involved in the relief distribution.
