KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal held a bilateral meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, Porgerour Katrin Gunnarsdottir, on the sideline of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers shared perspective on the unpredictable economic and human costs resulting from climate change-related disasters including the recent devastating Bhotekoshi flood in Nepal.
They also underlined the importance of whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach for timely recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
They also reaffirmed the imperative of strengthening global solidarity and cooperation to address the intensifying climate change, capacity gaps and resources constraints. (RSS)
