KATHMANDU: The Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai has urged Nepali diplomatic and consular missions in Northeast Asia to take proactive steps to advance the country’s national interests, with a focus on trade, investment, tourism and labor migration.
Rai made the remarks while chairing a virtual interaction with the heads of Nepali diplomatic and consular missions in the region on Thursday.
During the meeting, acting ambassadors and consuls general briefed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on their respective activities and initiatives.
Rai instructed the missions to prioritize strengthening people-to-people ties and improving service delivery, alongside promoting Nepal’s economic and other national interests.
