Former Joint Secretary Devkota Donates Rs 5 Million to Flood Victims

KATHMANDU: Former joint secretary of the Government of Nepal, Loknath Devkota, has donated Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support the rescue and relief efforts for victims of recent floods, landslides, and inundation.

Devkota, a native of Gorkha Palungtar-2 Simpani who currently resides in Kathmandu, handed over the cheque to the Minister of Finance.

The contribution comes as various parts of the country continue to face significant damage and suffering caused by the recent natural disasters.

Reflecting on the crisis, Devkota emphasized that it is the responsibility of every citizen to provide support during such challenging times.

He stated, ‘It is the primary duty of all citizens to apply balm to the wounds of the victims and provide relief during this time of national disaster.’
