BUTWAL: Former Mayor of Kapilvastu Municipality and Congress leader Kiran Singh, who had been missing for three days, has been found dead in the Gorusinge forest.

He had gone missing in the Tilaurakot Community Forest since Friday. Although the motorcycle he was riding was found in the middle of the forest, he was not located.

Chief of Kapilvastu Police, SP Manohar Bhatta, informed that Singh’s body was found in the forest on Sunday.

“The team involved in our search operation reported that they have found Singh’s dead body; we are gathering further details,” he said.

The 65-year-old Singh had left his house located in Kapilvastu–3 on Friday around 2:00 PM. Around 3:30 PM, he phoned some individuals close to him saying, “I lost my way in the forest, save me”.

Following that, when a team including his relatives went out searching, the motorcycle with registration number Lu. Pra.01013 Pa 7970 that he rode was found parked inside the forest area, approximately eight kilometers from the East-West Highway.
