Former President Bhandari urges for joining hands in disaster relief

KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged one and all to engage in immediate rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the citizens battered by devastating flash flood and landslides in the areas around Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

Expressing grief over the loss of life and property due to natural disasters, the former President Bhandari urged the government, security agencies, local authorities, political parties, social organizations, and the general public to prioritize the rescue of citizens affected by the disaster.

She has called for the concerned agencies to promptly deliver essential relief materials, including food, health services, and temporary shelters, to affected areas, and to relocate citizens at risk to safe places.

Former Head of State Bhandari emphasized that all parties should come together to provide necessary assistance to the affected families through humanitarian efforts during this difficult time of disaster.

In addition, the former President highlighted the need for better coordination among relevant agencies to make the search and rescue of missing citizens more effective.

She paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones.
