KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and senior Nepal Communist Party (CPN) leader Jhala Nath Khanal departed for China on Thursday on a week-long visit at the friendly invitation of the People’s Republic of China.

During the visit, Khanal is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese leaders on Nepal–China bilateral relations, mutual interests, friendship, cooperation and other issues of shared concern, according to his private secretariat.
