Four arrested in illegal VoIP bypass operation in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested four people for allegedly operating an illegal international call bypass (VoIP) network in Kathmandu Valley.

The suspects have been identified as Proshesh Gurung of Ajirkot, Gorkha; Muna Shrestha of Shankharapur, Kathmandu; Jenit Jhukal of Krishnapur, Kanchanpur; and Krishna Nagarkoti of Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur. They were arrested in coordinated raids in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, according to CIB spokesperson Anupam Shumsher Jabara.

Police seized laptops, SIM cards from various telecom companies, mobile phones, batteries, internet hubs, routers and other equipment allegedly used in the illegal operation.
