PYUTHAN: Four bodies were found on the banks of the Madi and Lungri rivers at different locations in Swargadwari Municipality of Pyuthan on Thursday.
Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Narahari Adhikari of the District Police Office, Pyuthan, said the identities of the deceased have not yet been established.
According to police, the body of a boy estimated to be 12 to 13 years old was found on the bank of the Madi River in Judapata, Swargadwari Municipality-9. In another incident, the upper part of a man’s body was found on the bank of the Madi River in Kimichaur, Swargadwari-3.
A woman’s body was also recovered from Gothibang in Swargadwari-4. Meanwhile, at around 9:30 am, another woman’s body was found on the bank of the Lungri River in Saroja, Swargadwari-5.
After receiving information from local residents, police teams were deployed to the scene. The teams included seven personnel from the Area Police Office, Bhingri, led by Deputy Inspector Haste Gharti Magar; four personnel from the Police Post, Lamachaur, led by Assistant Inspector Shivalal Poudel; and a 10-member team, including a sniffer dog unit, from the Area Police Office, Bijuwar, under the command of Police Inspector Maheshwori Bista.
Police said further investigation is underway and that the identities of the deceased and the causes of death have not yet been determined.
