HETAUDA: The date for Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar to seek a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly has been rescheduled.

The assembly meeting—previously scheduled for Sunday, August 23—has now been deferred to Monday, August 24.

Issuing a notice on Friday, the assembly secretariat announced that the 18th meeting of the Provincial Assembly’s eighth session will convene at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 24.

The Deputy Speaker revised the date and time in accordance with Rule 6, Sub-rule (3) of the Provincial Assembly Rules, 2017.

During the upcoming session, Chief Minister Thapa Magar is set to table a motion seeking a vote of confidence pursuant to Article 168, Clause (4) of the Constitution of Nepal and Rule 143 of the Provincial Assembly Rules, 2017.

Having been appointed Chief Minister under Article 168, Clause (2) of the Constitution, Thapa Magar is required by constitutional provisions to secure the confidence of the Provincial Assembly.
