KATHMANDU: Funeral rites were performed for journalist Tekraj Thami at Pashupati Aryaghat using a symbolic kusha grass effigy, following his disappearance in the Bhotekoshi flood.
Thami, who worked for Naya Patrika daily, went missing on Aug. 26 while at the Kerung border crossing.
During the funeral, the Federation of Nepali Journalists draped the symbolic effigy with a flag to pay tribute to the journalist.
Attendees observed a one-minute silence in his memory. The ceremony was attended by a significant number of Thami’s relatives and fellow journalists.
