KATHMANDU: The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has stated that despite natural disasters, the supply and distribution of LP gas in the country remains uninterrupted.
According to the association, gas industries have consistently maintained a smooth supply system even during times of earthquakes, blockades, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disasters on August 26 caused significant damage in districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan due to flooding in the Bhote Koshi River.
Similarly, on August 30, after the Trishuli River eroded the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway, blocking the road, gas bullets were unable to reach Kathmandu, the association reported.
Following directives from the Nepal Oil Corporation, arrangements were made to refill cylinders from gas industries in Kathmandu, Kavre, and Dhading at facilities in districts such as Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Dhanusha, and Nawalparasi for distribution in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the association, the daily demand for LP gas in the Kathmandu Valley is approximately 40,000 cylinders.
Over the past three days, cylinders have been refilled at industries in the Terai region and distributed in the Valley.
The association assured that additional cylinders will continue to be refilled and supplied as needed in the coming days.
The association has urged general consumers not to hoard LP gas during this disaster period and to purchase only what is necessary.
