LISBON: Gorkha-11 Cricket Club, Portugal has won the title of the Europe-level ‘NRNA T-10 Cricket Tournament 2026’ held in Portugal.
Gorkha 11 secured the championship by defeating Jizira United Cricket Club, Malta in the final match held on Thursday at the cricket ground in Santarém, organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Portugal.
Batting first after winning the toss, Jizira United scored 92 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Chasing a target of 93 runs, Gorkha-11 achieved the target in 8.3 overs.
Along with the title, Gorkha-11 received a trophy, medals, and a certificate, as well as a cash prize of 5,555 Euros. The runner-up, Jizira, received a trophy, medals, and a certificate, along with a cash prize of 2,555 Euros. The NSCA Germany finished in third place.
Mehboob Ali of Jizira Malta was named the Player of the Tournament, while his teammate Suraj Daraimagar was declared the Best Batsman. Ashish Niraula of NRNA Germany was named the Best Bowler.
