Govt mobilizes 12 helicopters for Rasuwa flood rescue

KATHMANDU: The government has deployed 12 helicopters to intensify search and rescue operations in Rasuwa following the devastating floods.

Of the helicopters mobilized, four are operated by the Nepali Army, while eight have been provided by private operators to assist in rescuing people stranded or affected by the floods.

The Nepali Army has also deployed three helicopter teams to Rasuwa and Nuwakot, comprising two dedicated rescue teams and one medical team.

Meanwhile, security personnel from all relevant agencies have been mobilized in Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Chitwan to support search, rescue, and relief efforts.

To facilitate the continued operation of the helicopters, an aviation fuel tanker has been sent from Kathmandu to Trishuli in Nuwakot to ensure a steady fuel supply for ongoing search, rescue, and relief missions.
