KATHMANDU: The government has appointed new office bearers, including chancellors, to Nepal’s three national academies.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah approved the appointments to the Nepal Academy, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Nepal Academy of Music and Drama on the recommendation of a committee led by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadgaraj Poudel.
For the Nepal Academy, Kumar Nagarkoti has been appointed Chancellor, Abinash Shrestha Vice-Chancellor, and Roshan Sherchan Member Secretary. The newly appointed council members are Pratisara Manandhar, Krishnaraj Chaudhary, Sita Subba, Tirtha Bahadur Gurung, Rupa Kumari, Nabin Nepali, Deepak Sapkota, and Durga Bahadur Gharti.
At the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Erina Tamrakar has been appointed Chancellor, Chandrashyam Dango Vice-Chancellor, and Kailash Kumar Shrestha Member Secretary. The council includes Jupiter Pradhan, Kubir Dewan, Sangi Shrestha, Dhruvraj Sharma, Om Prakash Yadav, and Bina Paudyal.
Similarly, the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama will be headed by Brajesh Khanal as Chancellor, with Jhuma Banem serving as Vice-Chancellor and Bhupendra Singh Rayamajhi as Member Secretary. The council members are Chhendok Hang Rai, Jit Bahadur Deuja, Subima Shrestha, Saraswati Chaudhary, Rajan Mukarung, and Rekha Shah Gurung.
