KATHMANDU: Nepali batsman Gulshan Jha scored a half-century against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the ACC Premier Cup final held in Malaysia on Saturday.
The left-handed batsman reached his fifty off 36 balls, hitting four sixes and three fours in the process.
This marks Jha’s sixth half-century in One Day International (ODI) cricket. With this performance, the 20-year-old has also surpassed the milestone of 1,000 runs in the ODI format. Before the start of this match, Jha had accumulated 963 runs in international cricket.
Nepal elected to bat first after winning the toss in the final. By the end of 45 overs, Nepal had posted 265 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Rohit Paudel was dismissed for 40 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee remains unbeaten on one run.
