KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party parliamentary party leader Gyanendra Shahi has thanked Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane for distributing Jumla apples during his party’s central committee meeting.
Shahi expressed his gratitude while urging the government and the Ministry of Agriculture, currently led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party, to address the challenges faced by farmers in Jumla.
He noted that while Jumla apples are currently available in the market, local farmers are struggling to receive fair prices for their produce.
Shahi stated, ‘Thank you very much to party chairman Rabi Lamichhane for starting the Rastriya Swatantra Party central committee meeting by distributing Jumla apples. However, the government is yours, and the Ministry of Agriculture and the minister are also yours. Jumla apples are in the market now, but the farmers have not received a fair price.’
He further requested the government to restrict the import of foreign apples until the local Jumla harvest is cleared from the market. Shahi added that if the government takes this action, the farmers of Jumla would never forget the favor.
