KATHMANDU: Nepal’s current weather is being influenced by a combination of monsoonal currents and partial westerly winds, while the monsoon trough line remains positioned south of its average location.
Across the country, the high-altitude and hilly belts are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, with partly cloudy skies observed in the southern Terai plains.
Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is already underway at a few locations in Bagmati Province, as well as isolated spots in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
During the day, generally cloudy skies will prevail across the high-altitude and hilly regions, while the Terai area will remain partly cloudy.
Meteorologists warn that moderate rainfall and snowfall with thunder and lightning are expected across several high-altitude and hilly zones.
Additionally, light to moderate showers with thunder and lightning are forecast for isolated areas in the Terai, with heavy rainfall likely in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Conditions tonight will remain generally cloudy in the high-altitude and hilly belts, while the Terai will see partly cloudy skies.
Moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in isolated high-altitude areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as one or two locations in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate showers with lightning will continue across parts of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with isolated rainfall extending to the hills of Karnali and Sudurpashchim.
