KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division reports that monsoon winds are currently influencing weather patterns across Nepal, with the monsoon trough remaining near its normal position.
Skies across the country remain generally cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning taking place in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as isolated areas in Lumbini Province.
For this afternoon, generally cloudy conditions will persist nationwide.
Light to moderate rain with lightning is expected across several mountain and hilly regions, as well as parts of the Terai belt in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and scattered areas of Madhesh, Koshi, and Lumbini provinces.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Overnight conditions will remain generally cloudy. Moderate rainfall with lightning is likely across high mountain areas and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with scattered occurrences in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Furthermore, heavy rain is forecast for isolated spots in both the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as the hilly areas of Gandaki Province.
