A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: Active monsoon winds positioning a low-pressure trough over its average location continue to drive widespread, overcast weather and scattered precipitation across Nepal, according to the latest updates from the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Light to moderate showers accompanied by thunder and lightning are currently impacting several regions, with meteorologists urging increased vigilance in vulnerable terrains.

During the daytime, mostly cloudy conditions will persist nationwide, bringing thunderstorm activity and moderate rainfall to various high-altitude, hilly, and Terai zones.

Isolated locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces face elevated risks of sudden heavy downpours, while high winds are expected to sweep across parts of the Terai belt in Madhesh and Koshi provinces.

The active weather pattern is set to continue through the night, keeping the entire country under dense cloud cover.

Heavy rainfall remains forecasted for select mountain and hill locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, raising concerns for potential flash floods and localized landslips.
