KATHMANDU: Helicopters from the Nepali Army and the private sector will be deployed starting early this morning to rescue injured citizens and those at risk following flooding in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.
A recent meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) decided to rescue the injured from the affected area and initially treat them at camps established in the Nepali Army barracks in Dhunche (Rasuwa) and Bidur (Nuwakot), according to Ministry of Home Affairs Spokesperson Ananda Kafle.
According to him, preparations are in place to immediately airlift critically injured individuals to Kathmandu.
Rescue and medical treatment will proceed after triaging (categorizing) the injured based on their condition.
Additionally, essential relief materials for the affected populations are being dispatched via land routes toward the Nepali Army barracks in Bidur.
