KATHMANDU: Both the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly are set to meet today, with ministers expected to table key legislative proposals and answer lawmakers’ queries.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the House of Representatives will convene at 11 am. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is expected to present a proposal to take up the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083 for consideration.
Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav is also scheduled to present a proposal seeking consideration of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Bill, 2083.
Likewise, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is expected to table the Agreement on Long-Term Electricity Trade between Nepal and India.
The National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1:15 pm. During the meeting, ministers concerned will respond to written questions related to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
They are also scheduled to answer oral questions concerning the Ministries of Finance and Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
In addition, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel ‘Ganes’ is expected to present a proposal to refer the Domestic Airlines Liability Bill, 2083 to the Legislative Management Committee for clause-by-clause deliberation.
