KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has commenced.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harkaraj Rai, reiterated his party’s demand that the Speaker should issue a ‘ruling’ for Prime Minister Balendra Shah to attend the meeting, and stated that his protest would continue until the PM attends the House meeting.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal urged MP Rai to take his seat. Afterwards, MP Rai refused to sit and boycotted the meeting.
The ‘urgent time’ has started in the HoR meeting now.
Minister for Finance Dr Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to present the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
As per the House business shared by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the ‘Intangible Cultural Property (Protection) Bill, 2081 BS’, which originated in the NA, will be tabled in the HoR meeting, along with a message received from the Upper House.
The schedule also includes tabling of a proposal by Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina seeking consideration of the ‘Film Bill, 2082 BS’. The Bill was introduced in the NA.
