Hotel fined Rs 25,000 for violating business ethnics

DANG: A hotel at Deukhuri has been fined for violating business ethics.

It has been accused of serving stale food to guests, most of whom are travelers, along the East-West Highway.

According to Padam Baral, chief of the Food Technology and Quality Control Office, the hotel facing the action for violating business ethics is Purba Paschim Highway Hotel at Rapti Rural Municipality-3 along the East West Highway.

The eatery was fined Rs 25,000. A team from the Office, also including Dang’s assistant chief district officer Sabitra Pun took action against the hotel that was found storing unhealthy and stale food in the hotel’s refrigerator, using artificial colours in cooked food, featuring inappropriate kitchen structure, not displaying price lists, allowing water accumulation in the drain and emitting putrid smell from the kitchen.

According to chief Baral, the hotel had been earlier asked for maintaining the standard several times, but it grossly ignored the diktat.

The team also monitored seven hotels along the Deukhuri area on Friday.
