KATHMANDU: Five-star hotel Yak and Yeti has donated Rs 10,111,000 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected citizens.
A team led by hotel director Arun Kumar Saraf, along with Ratna Devi Saraf and Umesh Saraf, handed over the amount to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle.
The hotel stated that the contribution was made as part of its corporate social responsibility to assist those affected during the disaster. Director Arun Kumar Saraf expressed his belief that the support would contribute to the ongoing relief efforts and pledged to continue such assistance in the future as needed.
Located in Durbarmarg, Kathmandu, the Yak and Yeti has been in operation since 1977. Developed within the historic Lal Durbar, the hotel is recognized as a prominent name in Nepal’s hospitality sector. The Saraf family has been active in social services and heritage conservation alongside their business operations. Through the Saraf Foundation, the family has supported various initiatives, including the preservation of cultural heritage and environmental sustainability projects, such as waste management efforts in the Everest region. The latest donation is considered a continuation of the hotel’s commitment to social responsibility.
