DHANUSHA: Authorities have made identification documents mandatory for all individuals entering Nepal through border crossings in Dhanusha district.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Security Committee on Sunday. According to the District Administration Office, security personnel will now record the identity of everyone entering Nepal based on valid identification documents.

The administration also announced that the curfew imposed in Dhanusha will be lifted from 5:00 a.m. on Monday following an agreement between the government and Hindu organisations, which have committed to withdrawing their protest programmes.

Security had been tightened across several districts in Madhesh Province after unrest escalated following an incident in Kaptanganj, Sunsari.
