KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki returned to Nepal on Wednesday after attending a regional summit in Thailand focused on combating transnational organized crime and cyber fraud.
The two-day summit, titled “The Regional Summit on Scam Center Compounds and Transnational Organized Crime,” was held in Bangkok on July 20–21. It was jointly organized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Royal Thai Police.
According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, participants held extensive discussions on strengthening global cooperation, intelligence sharing and international coordination to combat organized crime, cyber scams and cross-border criminal networks.
The summit brought together law enforcement officials from across the region to explore collaborative strategies for addressing increasingly sophisticated transnational criminal activities.
