KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu has hosted Nepali alumni of Indian law institutions, bringing together senior members of Nepal’s judiciary, legal profession and academia to strengthen legal and educational cooperation between the two countries.

Chief Justice of Nepal Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, an alumnus of an Indian law institution, attended the event as chief guest. Supreme Court justices, former attorneys general, senior legal professionals, academics and young lawyers also participated.

The event featured the launch of the Association of Nepali Alumni of Indian Law Institutions, which aims to create a platform for greater collaboration in legal education and professional exchanges.

The Indian Embassy said alumni networks can play an important role in further strengthening the longstanding relationship between India and Nepal.

The initiative is expected to provide a forum for Nepali legal professionals educated in India to build institutional links and promote cooperation across the legal and academic sectors.
