KATHMANDU: Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on August 16 for a five-day official visit at the invitation of Chief of the Army Staff of the Nepali Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
General Seth, who assumed office as the 31st Chief of the Indian Army on June 30, will hold official engagements during his stay in Nepal aimed at further strengthening longstanding military ties between the two neighboring countries.
As part of the visit, the Government of Nepal will confer upon General Seth the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army, a long-standing tradition reflecting the close and historic relationship between the armies of Nepal and India.
