KATHMANDU: Ride-hailing company indrive has donated Rs 75 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support the relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts for communities affected by the recent Bhote Koshi floods.
The contribution was handed over to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on Wednesday in the presence of indrive Nepal representatives.
The floods, triggered by a glacial and rock avalanche near the Nepal-China border on Aug. 26, caused significant loss of life and property across the lower riparian regions of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. The disaster damaged numerous homes, schools, bridges, hydropower projects, and other critical public infrastructure. Search and rescue operations in the affected areas remain ongoing, alongside efforts to locate missing persons.
In addition to the financial contribution to the national fund, indrive has provided direct humanitarian aid to affected families in Ward 9 of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot. The company distributed essential supplies, including food items, solar lights, induction stoves, blankets, and sanitary pads, to address the immediate needs of the displaced residents.
