KATHMANDU: Infomerics Credit Rating Nepal has assigned ratings to bank facilities worth Rs 10.81 billion for Dudhkoshi Hydropower Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (DHNPL), the company developing the 70 MW Dudhkoshi-2 (Jaleshwar) hydropower project in Solukhumbu.
The rating agency assigned IRN BB+ to the company’s Rs 10.50 billion long-term bank facilities and IRN A4 to its Rs 312 million short-term facilities.
The project is being developed with an estimated investment of around Rs 15 billion, with 70 percent financed through bank loans and 30 percent through equity. The cost per megawatt is estimated at about Rs 214.3 million.
According to Infomerics, the project has already signed a 30-year power purchase agreement with the Nepal Electricity Authority, but construction progress remains at an early stage, with financial progress reaching only 5.17 percent as of July 13, 2026. Commercial operation is now expected in July 2028.
