BAITADI: Minister for Physical Infrastructure Sunil Lamsal is being flown to Kathmandu for further treatment after falling ill while on a field visit to Baitadi to inspect projects under his ministry.
Lamsal arrived in Gothalapani of Dasharathchand Municipality-4 on Friday night and stayed there on Saturday. He reportedly developed a fever while staying in Gothalapani, along with a sore throat and discomfort in his hands and legs.
Officials at the District Administration Office said Lamsal received treatment from local health workers. However, as his condition did not improve, arrangements were made to bring him to Kathmandu for further medical evaluation.
He is being flown to Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon aboard a Nepal Army Skytruck that arrived from Surkhet.
Puskar Raj Joshi, the municipal chief, said Lamsal began experiencing health problems from Sunday morning.
“It is currently the season for viral fever. As far as we understand, that appears to be the case. We have not been informed of any other health problems,” Joshi said.
Lamsal had travelled to Baitadi as part of a field visit to monitor infrastructure projects being implemented under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
