BHADRAPUR: The Internal Revenue Office, Jhapa collected over Rs 4.93 billion in revenue during the previous fiscal year.

The office had been assigned a target of Rs 6.68 billion, and it achieved 81.31 percent of that goal.

According to Information Officer Dilliram Chaulagain, the collection consisted of Rs 2.41 billion from income tax, Rs 1.66 billion from value-added tax (VAT), and Rs 670.89 million from excise duty.

The office also reported Rs 56.67 million from rental income tax, Rs 93.68 million from interest tax, and Rs 26.32 million under other revenue categories.

The Internal Revenue Office is responsible for revenue administration in Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung districts.
