KATHMANDU: The teaser for the upcoming Nepali film Jhingedau 2 has been officially unveiled at an event held at QFX Labim Mall in Lalitpur, offering audiences a glimpse into another family drama packed with conflict, emotion and mystery.
The 1-minute, 51-second teaser revolves around the ups and downs of family relationships, centering on tensions between sisters-in-law. It opens with Hiuwala Gautam leaving home in the middle of the night, followed by family members searching for their mother, setting the stage for an emotional storyline.
The teaser retains the essence of the original Jhingedau while introducing new twists. One of its biggest talking points is Aryan Sigdel’s mysterious appearance, where he is seen bound in chains, hinting at a dramatic turn in the sequel.
Directed by Gyanendra Deuja, Jhingedau 2 is the sequel to the commercially successful Jhingedau. The film stars Aanchal Sharma and Keki Adhikari as sisters-in-law, while Mahesh Tripathi and Kushal Bista portray two brothers. It is scheduled for nationwide release on September 18 (Asoj 2).
The ensemble cast also includes Saroj Khanal, Sangam Bhandari, Bijay Deuja, Anshu Maharjan, Abhay Raj Baral, Uttam KC, Shivhari Bairagi, Asha Bhushal, Rain Pradhan, Binod Kumar Poudel, Ashish Purush, Bishnu Sapkota and Narendra Thapa.
The screenplay and dialogues are written by Parichhed Sen, while the story is by Govinda Phuyal and Shishir Chalise. The film is produced by Sulabh Pratik Deuja and Samikshya Deuja under the banner of KapanGadhi Cinema and Film Crew Nepal.
The technical team features cinematographer Bishnu Ghimire “Kalpit”, editor Mitra D. Gurung, music composer Arjun Pokharel, choreographer Ramji Lamichhane and action director Roshan Shrestha. Production management is handled by Ishwar Ghimire, while Apple Entertainment will distribute the film across Nepal.
Filmmakers attending the teaser launch praised its strong family-oriented narrative, expressing confidence that it will resonate with audiences. The original Jhingedau was a box-office success, and the sequel is expected to build on that popularity when it hits theatres this Dashain season.
