KATHMANDU: Spouse of RSS reporter Kalika Khadka, Tekraj Thami, has gone out of contact since the devastative flash flood occurred in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.
Also a journalist, Thami, had left Kathmandu for Keyrong via Rasuwa on Tuesday, but lost contact with family and friends since Wednesday morning. He is a reporter with the Nayapatrika daily.
Search for Thami has been continued on both sides of the Nepal-China border, which suffered worst during the massive flood.
“Since Tuesday, my husband has no contact with us. Although some have hinted at his message to a friend and mentioned it in social media, he is totally contactless to all- family, relatives and colleagues,” spouse Khadka shared, adding that Thami had left for Rasuwa by taking a leave for four days.
However, based on the information that he reached toward Chinese side, coordination is underway to establish contact with Chinese side to launch a search for him, according to her. Detailed information about him was sent to the Chinese officials for it.
Spouse Khadka further informed that his mobile location was tracked till 8:21am on Wednesday. Since then his mobile phone is switched off. He had left here via Rasuwa for a programme to be held in Keyrong, China.
“There is no reliable source though it showed (a red signal) like a Messenger call to another journalist Anweshan Adhikari. Till now, we have not received any information on him,” Khadka added.
Thami’s family and the Federation of Nepali Journalists have urged everyone for extending support to search for the missing journalist. “We’re worried much due to his contactless state. I appeal to all for the help on his search,” Khadka stated.
