KATHMANDU: Kadir Alam has been appointed chair of the Nepal Pharmacy Council.
Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta appointed Alam to the post through a ministerial decision.
Alam took the oath of office and secrecy at the Ministry of Health on Wednesday and is expected to formally assume his responsibilities at the council later the same day.
The appointment process had earlier been opened through a public competition. Among the applicants, Alam, Dharma Prasad Khanal, Pradeep Lamsal, Baburam Humagain, Bijay Yadav, Rajkumar Thapa and Lila Joshi Guruvacharya had been called for interviews.
