BAJURA: The Karnali corridor roadway is obstructed due to a landslide at Bhukaha Khola of Jagannath Rural Municipality-5, Bajura district. The landslide was triggered by incessant rain since last night.
According to Inspector Gagan Singh Bhat, the information officer at the District Police Office Bajura, the road section has been blocked by a landslide that occurred in Himali Rural Municipality-7 Bandhu and Jagannath Rural Municipality-5.
He informed that the landslide that occurred in Bandhu section of the Karnali corridor was cleared using a JCB from PS Construction. However, the road is blocked at Bhukaha Khola section of the highway.
To clear the road, a three-member police team under the command of Assistant Inspector Ramesh Rawal from Juddi Police Outpost has been deployed to the scene.
Vehicles heading to their destinations are held up on the road due to the blockage. Currently, according to information officer Bhat, efforts are being made to clear the road using a JCB dozer in Jagannath Rural Municipality.
Due to continuous rain, the risk of landslides has increased in various places along the Karnali Corridor, so the police have urged travelers and drivers to stay alert.
